At The Oasis

About The Oasis:

On a cold night in Melrose, Montana, Dylan, a drifter in his early twenties, walks into Jake’s Bar. The bar is closing and he plans on getting the cash deposited in the safe every night. But then Dylan meets the bartender, Brad, a fearless and war-weary veteran of Middle East conflicts, who seems to understand Dylan better than he understands himself.

Writers Inspiration: I wrote The Oasis as the third play in a trilogy about the Iraq war. The first two were The Tower, which takes place before the war in Iraq, and The Walls Came Tumbling Down, which takes place during the war. This one act imagines what might happen to a soldier once he returns.
